1. What we collect

We collect personal information you give us, including: your name, email address, phone number, the design preferences you submit through the Design Your Ring tool (stone, style, metal, budget, timeframe and any message), order and delivery details, and payment information you provide to complete a purchase. We also collect limited technical data (e.g. device/browser, pages viewed) via our platform and analytics.

2. How we collect it

Directly from you when you use our enquiry/design form, contact us, or place an order; and automatically through cookies and analytics when you browse the Site.

3. Why we collect and use it

To respond to your Design Your Ring enquiries and prepare design concepts and quotes; to process and fulfil orders; to communicate with you about your enquiry or order; to improve our Site and products; and to meet legal and tax obligations. We will only use your information for the purpose it was collected or a related purpose you would reasonably expect, or as you have consented.

4. Marketing

We will only send you marketing communications if you have opted in, and every such message includes an unsubscribe option. You can opt out at any time by contacting us.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business — for example our e-commerce platform (Shopify), our email provider (Google Workspace), the tool that records enquiries (Google Sheets), payment processors, and delivery couriers — and only so they can perform those services. Some providers may store data overseas; we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

6. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including through our platforms' security controls. No online system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data breaches

If a data breach likely to cause serious harm occurs, we will respond in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected individuals and the OAIC where required.

8. Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by emailing naseeb@aussiegemhunter.com.au. If you have a privacy complaint, you can contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time. If unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

9. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to run the store, understand how it's used, and measure our advertising. Some of these share information with third parties. Specifically, we use:

• Meta (Facebook) Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — records actions you take on our site (pages and products viewed, enquiries, purchases) and links them to your Meta account or device, so we can measure our Facebook and Instagram ads and show you relevant ads. This may involve disclosing personal information to Meta.
• Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — collects information about how visitors use our site (pages viewed, time on site, device, approximate location, referring source) so we can understand and improve the store.
• Google Ads tags (Google LLC) — measure conversions from, and deliver remarketing ads through, Google's advertising network.

These may collect identifiers such as your device and browser information, IP address and the pages you view, and may set cookies. In combination this information can identify you and is treated as personal information. We do not intentionally collect or transmit any sensitive information (such as health information) through these technologies.

Your choices and consent. Where required by law (including the EU, EEA and UK), these advertising and analytics technologies load only after you accept them via the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Manage preferences" link in that banner. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, manage Google ad personalisation in your Google Ad Settings, adjust your Meta ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings, and block or delete cookies in your browser.
